Local Councillor Charlotte Hall hailed the fantastic efforts and commitment of Town, Community and Parish Councils today at Full Council, Wednesday 23rd November. Her motion was well accepted and passed unanimously.
Within her motion, Cllr Hall called for Milton Keynes City Council to acknowledge and thank these organisations for their fantastic work in their local communities and implored her colleagues, across the Chamber, to continue to encourage their residents to stand as Parish and City Council councillors. Cllr Hall highlighted that Town, Community and Parish Councils have stepped up at every opportunity, coming to the aid of the isolated and vulnerable during the Covid-19 pandemic and currently, running community larders and warm banks for those affected by cost-of-living crisis.
Cllr Charlotte Halls said “It is imperative that our partners and colleagues in Town, Community and Parish Councils are acknowledged for the outstanding support they give their communities every single day. We must continue to nurture this valuable relationship and I hope by submitting this motion we can strive together to support our residents and keep improving our great new City.”
As Chair of Old Woughton Parish Council, Cllr Charlotte Hall has been a dedicated Parish Councillor for several years and is proud to advocate for these community champions. Alike to Cllr Hall, Conservative Group Leader Cllr David Hopkins has held close relationships with parishes in his ward for over 40 years.
He added “……. I have had the honour of serving in my local Parish of Wavendon since 1979 and have witnessed first-hand the difference our hard working and dedicated town, community and parish councillors can make in shaping and developing communities new and old across the whole of the city. Our thanks and gratitude to all who serve in each and every parish is long overdue and I welcome Cllr Hall’s timely and well-constructed council motion that does just that”.
