On Wednesday 19th November, Group Leader Cllr David Hopkins, Cllr Nabeel Nazir and Cllr Shazna Muzammil attended the Black History Month Exhibition at Centre:MK. It was a wonderful opportunity and a privilege to meet and listen to the experiences of many residents.
Cllr Shaza Muzammil said “Celebrating Black History Month and shining a spotlight on those of African and Caribbean heritage's contributions to British society, as well as fostering an understanding of Black history in general, is an important and beautiful time for everyone in Milton Keynes to come together and appreciate our rich and colourfully diverse culture. We are all certainly better together, and that’s what I saw in Middleton Hall in CMK. ”
Cllr Nabeel Nazir adds "It is very important that we, as councillors in a diverse new city, continue to champion events such as this. In our visit, we had meaningful conversations, and I am grateful to have had this opportunity to learn further about this important cause."
